Peter included in the Acquavella Galleries exhibition of the Scull Collection, Spring 2010

Peter was surpised and delighted to learn about a new show at the Acquevella Galleries which documents the many artworks and artists collected by Robert and Ethel Scull. A nice overview of the show can be found here.

Zurich 2009

Peter's work is on display at the Hausler Contemporary in Zurich, Switzerland, May 28 to July 25, 2009, in a solo show entitled "Born To Be Wild."  The exhibit features a selection of characteristic works from the 1960s and 1970s as well as more recent paintings and works on paper.

Peter attended the opening weekend on June 6 and 7 and then travelled to Berlin and New York to visit friends.

"After 45 years of art-making I have to admit that the whole process is as mysterious as ever"  --Peter, as quoted on the postcard for the show.

Peter Lately

As some of you know, Peter spends a lot of time performing humanitarian service work. He's been working as of late with repatriated migrants at a small, volunteer-staffed center in Naco, Arizona, right across the border from Bisbee. Summer is a deadly time of year for migrants, and Peter is committed to making sure they get the care they need after being dumped off by the Border Patrol.

In other news, he has also been painting again! Inspired by an installation from his show in Munich, he's been using old paint chips and painting with them in a whole new way. He's likely to show these in 2009 in Zurich- we'll put details about that show when we get them. Again, Hausler Contemporary is likely to host his work in Switzerland.

For now, he's busy in his garden, harvesting and drying chiles, weeding out the decaying sunflowers, and planning to go to his high school reunion.

Munich 2008

Peter had a BEAUTIFUL show up in Munich last winter at the Häusler Contemporary - a great space that was showing (mostly) dot paintings. His opening at the end of January was so much fun, and he was thrilled to see old friends like Rolf Ricke and Ulrike Arnold

Hi Wolfgang, Krista, Benita, Andrea, and Linn!
